I was able to get it to work with WEP. Just make sure that you use a full WEP key and not one of the "WEP Passwords" that some routers let you use.

Curious if you ever got working with WEP? I am trying to use with CDMA / DSL bridge product called Airave. Need the GPS antenna in an upper window and DSL is in the basement. Hope to use the bridge between the ethernet connections on the modem and the Airave. Got the control screen and made all updates (i think), but never connected to the Access Point. using WEP on several devices, would rather not reconfigure everything. I will try again tonight to see if I fat fingered an input.

Thanks for posting this! I was about to flash my WMB54G with DD-WRT but you saved me a ton of time. I plugged the ethernet cable into the bridge and it just worked. Fantastic!

Using a long ethernet cable was my first choice. Unfortunately, though, I am not really allowed to drill holes in this place, which made that a tricky option :)

I am not 100% sure how well the music adapter works because I have not actually used it as such (it doesn't have any drivers available for OS X). However, my understanding is that once it is configured, all you have to do is install the software from Linksys and it appears as an external device in WMP. The box itself has both a 1/8" and RCA out on the back, so you just plug it into a receiver like a standard device on your stack.

That sounds like an impressive project that you undertook. I can see how WAV may not have been the most efficient way to stream that data :)

You certainly earned that $42! I am especially amused because the wireless music bridge actually costs more new than the Wireless Xbox 360 adapter. The price discrepancy is really just due to the fact that people are selling their used bridges for cheaper. I guess that's the magic of supply and demand. Personally, I am so cheap that I would probably just use my 50' ethernet cable instead of buying a music bridge, although I do have a wireless adapter.

I do find the concept of the music bridge interesting though. How does that work exactly? It's like a network printer, except it's a stereo audio port? That reminds me of a project I worked on once, to output music from a Linux box to a stereo, controlled by a laptop running a Winamp plugin (with start/stop/pause functionality). Basically I was streaming the WAV data over the network to the Linux box which was sending it straight to the audio port. Great way to lag your network =)
